Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

2 C.  Sugar

1/2 C.  Milk

1/3 C. Cocoa

1/2 C.  Butter

1 tsp. Vanilla

1/2 C.  Peanut Butter(Chunkystyle O.K.,don’t add nuts)

3 C.  Uncooked Quick Rolled Oats

1/2 C. walnuts, chopped (optional)

Mix sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk in large saucepan.  Bring mixture to boil AND let Boil 2 minutes and remove from heat.  Add peanut butter, vanilla, mix well.  Add oatmeal and nuts.  WORK VERY FAST AFTER ADDING PEANUT BUTTER.  Drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheet covered with waxed paper.  Chill until firm.

Notes:  Use Chunky style peanut butter and nuts if you like lots of nutty flavor.

If you double the ingredients Boil mixture ONLY 1 minute longer.
